Welcome to a Lodge that highlights the essence of the area, that of rainforests, wetlands, birds, alligators and simple, friendly people. If you are interested in the lagoons and wetlands, you should not go too far, as the Lodge is surrounded by them. Laguna del Lagarto is located in the area of Santa Rita de Boca Tapada, and is surrounded by its own tropical rainforest reserve, home to hundreds of species of birds, mammals, reptiles, amphibians and insects. It has cozy rooms with ceiling fans, private bathrooms with hot water and views of the surrounding area. Additionally, the hotel's restaurant and bar is where tourists usually meet after a day of eco-adventure in the rainforest or on the San Carlos River.

The options for tours and activities are quite wide. For example, you can spend the whole day inside the Lodge's private reserve, or you can hire a birding tour with a local guide, who knows not only the species but where to see them best. If you want to explore the San Carlos River, you can book a boat tour to the mouth of the river, where it joins the San Juan River. Other excursions and activities include horseback riding, night walks in search of the flora and fauna that wake up at night and various other activities.
